Files Not Transfered Due to Option Settings

I suspect that Laplink Gold skipped over some files during a file transfer because the date/time stamps on the files said that the target computer actually has newer files (perhaps not the most recent information, however). How can I fix this?

To fix this:

  1. Start by looking at the clocks on both two computers. Make certain that they are within a minute of each other. Also check that they are on the same time zone.
  2. Go to the Options menu, click File Transfer options.
  3. Click the Filter tab, and remove the check mark from Transfer Files only if they are newer.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Connect and re-run the transfer.
  6. Return to the File Transfer options, and re-enable Transfer Files only if they are newer.

If you plan to copy this group of files in the future, make sure that you keep the clocks closely synced.

Also, be aware that some applications change the date/time stamp of a file whenever you view a file, regardless of whether you have made any real changes to the file. In these situations, always disable Transfer Files only if they are newer before starting a copy.
