I want to allow other Laplink Everywhere users to connect to this computer. How do I do this?

Laplink Everywhere only accepts connections from users who have an entry configured in the Users and Sharing dialog box. When you install Laplink Everywhere, the Setup program adds an entry for you by default and gives you permissions to access all files and services available to the host. In contrast, other users you add to the Users and Sharing dialog box cannot access any service or file on your computer until you explicitly give them permissions to do so. To give other users access to the Laplink Everywhere host:

  1. Double-click on the Laplink Everywhere icon in your system tray (down by the clock).
  2. Click Configure and choose Users and Sharing
  3. Click Add
  4. Specify the user's Laplink Everywhere User Name and then type the name you want displayed for this user in Laplink Everywhere dialog boxes.
  5. Click OK
  6. Select the user in the Users and Sharing list box.
  7. Now click each tab and specify the privileges you want to grant to this user.
  8. Click Apply to save your changes without closing the dialog box. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog box.
  9. That's it! When the user logs into the site they will see your shared Laplink Everywhere information available on the left side navigation bar of this site.
