How to Open Network Neighborhood Properties or My Network Places or Network Properties

SUMMARY

I have been directed to open Network Neighborhood Properties (or My Network Places Properties, or Network Properties) but I don't know where it is. How do I find it?


SOLUTION

For computers running Windows 95 and Windows 98

  1. Right-click Network Neighborhood and click Properties.

For computers running Windows ME

  1. Right-click My Network Places and click Properties.

For computers running Windows NT

  1. Right-click Network Neighborhood and click Properties.

For computers running Windows 2000

  1. Right-click My Network Places and click Properties.

  2. Right-click the appropriate Local Area Connection and click Properties.

For computers running Windows XP

  1. From the Windows Start button, click Control Panel.
     
    1. For computers running in Category mode:
       
      1. Click Network and Internet Connections
         
      2. Click Network Connections
         
      3. Right-click the appropriate Local Area Connection and click Properties
         
    2. For computers running in Classic mode:
       
      1. Double-click Network Connection
         
      2. Right-click the appropriate Local Area Connection and click Properties.

For computer running Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. From the Windows Start button, click Control Panel.

  2. Click Network and Internet.

  3. Click Network and Sharing Center.
