SUMMARY

I want Laplink to start minimized. How do I do this?

SOLUTION

Windows controls the way that Laplink runs. To configure the Laplink shortcut, follow these steps:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, go to Programs, then LapLink Gold.

  2. Right-click Laplink Gold, and click Properties.

  3. In the Run field, click Minimized.

  4. Click OK.
  5. NOTE: This configuration may not work on your computer. No other solutions are known at this time.

Other Laplink settings that control the way that LapLink starts:

If you want Laplink to start before the Windows logon

  1. From Laplink's Options menu, go to Program Options, and then Advanced.

  2. Click Always start Laplink before Windows logon prompt.
  3. NOTE: This will let you connect to Laplink's remote control service while the computer is still waiting for a Windows user name and password. Once Windows starts, Laplink will appear full screen until you minimize it.

If you want Laplink to appear only in the System Tray

  1. From Laplink's Options menu, go to Program Options, and then General.

  2. Uncheck Show Laplink in the Windows taskbar.

  3. Check Show the icon in the Windows Status area.
  4. NOTE: Here again, Laplink will open maximized and then when minimized sit in the System Tray.
