For computers that have not been updated, an update is available to the Windows InstallShield. This should resolve the problem for those computer. You can get this update from the following Microsoft web page:

If you are still having the same error message after installing the MS Visual C++ Redistributable, the latter might be corrupted and you would need to do a repair on this version of the redistributable.

  1. Open Control Panel

  2. Select Uninstall a program

  3. Select the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable mentioned in the error message. (e.g. Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) – 11.0.61030)

  4. Hit Change to open the installer

  5. Hit Repair in the installer window

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the x64 version (if you have a 64bit system)
